Last Night Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks finalized a trade that is sending Rajon Rondo and rookie Dwight Powell to the Mavericks and in return Boston is getting Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder,Jameer Nelson, 2015 first-round pick, and a future second-round pick.Boston Celtics basically gave Rondo up for very little they didn’t get enough for his value but as reported this was the best deal they could get so it was either this or let him walk in the off-season and obviously Boston wasn’t going to let that happen they needed to at least get some value out of him. Dallas got the better end of this deal as seeing they just got one of the top point guards in the league.Rajon Rondo is far from being a good shooter but what he does bring to the team is being an ultimate floor general he see’s everything on the floor before something happens and he creates shots for other people, Rondo leads the league in assist at 10.8. One other thing that Rondo is good at is rebounding, he leads all guards in rebounds per game at 7.5.What makes Rondo different from every other player is in big time games he rises to the occasion and plays big, in words of Santana Moss,“Big time players make big time plays in big time games.”
This defines Rondo all the way. Rajon Rondo on the Mavericks is one of the best pick ups this season, an already good team just got even better, the only thing that would take a while is the chemistry between the team, and how will Rondo and Monta Ellis co-exist? The potential starting line up would be Rajon Rondo, Monta Ellis, Chandler Parson, Dirk Nowitzki, and Tyson Chandler. We all know Dirk is big time and at the same time he is a team player and is willing to do anything to win. If this works between them and everything is running smooth with the Mavericks I believe Dallas could end up in the western conference finals I don’t necessarily believe this makes the Mavericks the team to beat just yet because they have no bench. In all this makes things even better in the already hard west.
